Crowds flock to local restaurants to support Dine Out for BRA Day

The Morgantown community was out in force this Wednesday evening at various local restaurants to show support for Dine Out for Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day. The purpose of BRA Day was to raise awareness of breast reconstruction options available to women following breast cancer surgery.

Kelsey Sadlek is a research assistant in Dr. Linda Vona-Davis' lab. She spent the past year as a research assistant in a basic science lab that studies diabetes at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. She graduated from Allegheny College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in English. |

Steampunk Masquerade Ball to benefit Bonnie’s Bus
You are cordially invited to the Steampunk Masquerade Ball at Table 9 in Morgantown from 8P to midnight on October 23. All proceeds from this event go to Vandalia-Con, a Steampunk Convention where 100% of proceeds benefit Bonnie's Bus, West Virginia's only mobile digital mammography unit. The evening will include appetizers, music, door prizes, a live fire performance and special guest Gretchen Ross. Tickets are $25 each and are available online or at the door.

Program to Stimulate Competitive Research requesting applications
Proposals are being sought from University faculty for grants through the Program to Stimulate Competitive Research to be awarded in Spring 2016 with a 12-month performance period. The purpose of PSCoR is to provide funding for activities that will lead to external funding for research. Funding through the PSCoR will be vailable to successful applicants January 1, 2016. WVCTSI Pilot Funding LOI and Application Deadlines Extended!
The West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) has extended the deadlines for the final funding cycle for the 2015-2016 Open Competition RFA and Launch RFA.
The Letters of Intent (LOI) for both opportunities are now due December 7, 2015. Those invited to submit full proposals must do so by February 8, 2016.
