Morgantown Touch-A-Truck marks another successful year
Not even the rainy weather could dampen interest in this year’s Morgantown Touch-A-Truck at Granville University Town Centre on May 21. Hundreds of families brought their children to the event to climb on and explore a wide variety of vehicles that were on display for a worthy cause.

Intraoperative radiation therapy is an option for some breast cancer patients

With breast cancer, patients often face a choice between removing the breast, or preserving the breast by removing only the cancerous tissue and hoping several weeks of radiation therapy will prevent its return. Many can be spared from enduring weeks of complicated radiation therapy with a minutes-long procedure in the operating room.
Dr. Jessica Partin (Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program at the WVU CI) and Dr. Rolly Sullivan (director of the WVU Medicine Addiction Program) explain intraoperative radiation therapy, or IORT, in this WVU Medicine Health Report.
Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund accepts donation

WVU Basketball Head Coach Bob Huggins recently received $2,500 for his Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund at the WVU Cancer Institute. The gift came from Highland-Clarksburg Hospital and was given to him for speaking at the hospital’s Huggs and Kisses fundraiser.
Huggins joined WVU Cancer Institute Visiting Committee member Billy Pulice of Bridgeport for a photo opportunity at the event.

WVU Cancer Institute professional staff from Cancer Prevention and Control and the Office of Philanthropy participated in the health fair for WVU Dining Services employees at Towers on May 24.

Just Desserts fundraiser to benefit brain cancer research and help patients

Sugar and spice and everything nice will be available to attendees of the Fifth Annual Just Desserts fundraiser to support adult brain cancer research and patient comfort at the WVU Cancer Institute.
