American Cancer Society awards research grant to WVU
West Virginia University will use a three-year, $210,000 American Cancer Society (ACS) grant to support seven junior faculty members engaged in research at the WVU Cancer Institute. The Cancer Institute is receiving applications from junior faculty seeking the funding and will announce the names of those selected in November. Deadline for applications is October 3, 2016.

Pilot Grant Funding Available From The WVU Cancer Institute
The WVU Cancer Institute, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society and our supporters, are requesting applications to fund several new pilot grants related to all types of cancer research or smoking cessation in cancer patients. In addition to the American Cancer Society, the funding mechanisms for these grants include the Let the Journey Begin Fund and the Phillip M. Dino Innovative Research Fund.
Applicants may include faculty from any WVU School or College. Prior membership in the WVU Cancer Institute/Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center is not necessary, however those faculty with proposals selected will need to submit an application for membership prior to distribution of funds. Deadline for the applications is October 3, 2016.
