Dr. Goldberg hosts Tea Time at Cancer Institute
WVU Cancer Institute Director Richard Goldberg, MD, says one of the best things he’s discovered since he’s arrived in West Virginia and at the Cancer Institute is its people. While hosting his first Tea Time this past Thursday, Dr. Goldberg got to meet and greet several Cancer Institute faculty and staff and introduce new members of our team, including Dr. Monika Holbein (supportive care physician) and Dr. Samir Agarwal (chief of robotics). He also participated in honoring Cancer Prevention and Control’s Mary Ellen Conn for 25 years of service to WVU and thanked WVU Senior Associate Vice President for Research & Graduate Education Laura Gibson, PhD, for serving as deputy director of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and overseeing our basic science research. Tea Time was also an opportunity to thank former Cancer Institute Account Manager Phil Sperry for his service and wish him well on his new position of chief budget planning officer in the WVU School of Dentistry. Dr. Goldberg added that he is really impressed with what he’s seen happening at the Cancer Institute and it’s clear that those who work here are committed to quality.
