Abraham Kanate, M.D., has been named medical director of the Osborn Hematopoietic Malignancy and Transplantation Program and will assume his new role on July 1, 2018. Michael Craig, M.D., who’s held the position for 12 years, will continue to serve as WVU’s Section Chief of Hematology and Oncology. The transition in program leadership will enable Dr. Craig to focus more on the recruitment of cancer specialists to the WVU Cancer Institute and the development of the Institute’s statewide network of cancer care. “Dr. Kanate is an excellent, well-trained physician with years of stem cell transplant experience,” said Craig as he congratulated Dr. Kanate on his new role. |
