Special Opportunity to "Ask NCI" at open forum
Please join Dr. Sarah Kobrin, chief officer of the NCI Health Systems & Interventions Research branch, who will be holding an open forum for investigators “To Ask NCI” during the upcoming Annual Breast Cancer Conference. This is an opportunity to ask questions and have meaningful dialogue with a representative from the National Cancer Institute. The lecture will start at 1:45pm in the Alumni Center's Vargo Room on Friday, July 26th.

“Vaporized: America’s E-Cigarette Addiction,” a comprehensive look inside the rapidly growing and highly controversial vaping industry, a market expected to hit $9 billion by the end of 2019.
Reported by Carl Quintanilla, the hour-long documentary explores the contentious debate over e-cigarettes. While some believe their sales should be restricted to prevent teens from vaping, others claim stricter regulation could cost the lives of many adult cigarette smokers who use e-cigarettes to help them quit.
WVU Medicine Health Report: HIPEC For Aggressive Cancer Treatment

Some cancers are difficult to treat due to where they appear in the body. For some abdominal cancers, intravenous chemotherapy may not work because drugs flowing through the whole body don’t penetrate into the peritoneal cavity – the space surrounding your abdominal organs.
One special procedure literally bathes this area with chemotherapy: a special treatment called hyper-thermic intra-peritoneal chemotherapy, or “HIPEC.” WVU Medicine surgical oncologist Brian Boone, MD, explains the procedure in this WVU Medicine Health Report.
