2024 WVU Cancer Institute Ad Watch Party

The WVU Cancer Institute held a Watch Party on Tuesday complete with pizza, popcorn, and drinks to unveil the 2024 Advertising Campaign.  4 ads will air in major regional TV markets supported by digital, print, and radio ads.  Additionally, regional site videos were curated for use in their respective markets to highlight their providers and services.
  


Building the Best for the WVU Cancer Institute


The 2024 Spring Gala will highlight the WVU Cancer Institute’s collaborative efforts and celebrate its successes with a weekend of festivities April 26-27 at The Greenbrier – America’s Resort. Co-chairs Laurie Erickson and Sharon Rowe, along with honorary chair Nikki Izzo-Brown, invite you to join us for a benefit not to be missed.
This year’s events include:
•    A Mexican fiesta and culinary demonstration presented by award-winning celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez
•    Coffee with Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark
•    A fireside chat with former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer
•    Forums featuring WVU Cancer Institute Director Hannah Hazard-Jenkins, MD, FACS, newly appointed WVU Health Sciences Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Education Ming Lei, PhD, and other WVU collaborators
•    A live auction and black-tie dinner dance featuring Benny Benack and his orchestra, joined by Broadway and New York performers
Tickets and sponsorships are now available at wvucancergala.com. The deadline to register is April 5. A block of rooms is reserved at The Greenbrier for Spring Gala attendees. Make your reservation by calling 1-855-453-4858 and mentioning the WVU Cancer Institute Spring Gala. Rooms must be reserved by March 25.

WVU Day of Giving

The WVU Day of Giving will take place on March 20, 2024. For 24 hours, students, alumni, patients and friends come together to support the University.
Day of Giving serves as a convenient opportunity for Mountaineer Nation to contribute to the purposeful work being done at WVU, focused on improving higher education, improving healthcare and improving lives in West Virginia and beyond.
How can you participate?

Students Awarded Best Presentation at Conference

At the American Physical Therapy Association Conference, Dr. Victoria Pfab DPT, Oncology PT Resident at WVU Cancer Institute and Dr. McKinzey Dierkes, DPT/PhD student with the WV Clinical and Translational Science PhD program received the Oncology Academy Student Research Award for Best Oral Platform for their presentation: Utility of the Distress Thermometer Physical Problems List in Identifying Rehabilitation Needs: a pilot study. 
Dr. Pfab and Dr. Dierkes are mentored by WVUCI Research Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Survivorship, Dr. Nicole Stout DPT, CLT-LANA, FAPTA. This project was done in collaboration with the Survivorship Program and supported by Ms. Patricia
Policicchio and is part of the Survivorship Programs efforts to develop clinical pathways for distress management and supportive care for individuals receiving care at WVUCI.
