Annual Fall Cancer Conference Registration Now Open

WVU hosts Appalachian Translational Research Network’s Annual Summit

West Virginia University hosted the 13th Annual Summit of the Appalachian Translational Research Network (ATRN) on October 5-6, 2023. The WVU Cancer Institute (WVUCI) was the primary sponsor of the event.

The ATRN is committed to addressing the significant health challenges and disparities specific to Appalachia by enhancing research collaborations to speed the translation of scientific discoveries to health improvements for this region. Breakout session themes ranged from Clinical Research: Recruitment, Retainment, Challenges, and Best Practices to COVID-19 Challenges in Rural Appalachia to Environmental Impacts on Healthy Habits.


WVU To Celebrate World Pancreatic Day

The WVU Cancer Institute will mark World Pancreatic Cancer Day with the DeLynn lecture followed by a special luncheon event.  The lecture will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in WVU Health Sciences Center, Room 4080, with the luncheon to follow starting at noon in the WVU Cancer Institute Don Hoylman Family Atrium.

WVU’s world-class pancreatic cancer team leads one of the nation’s best robotic pancreatic surgery programs, conducts cutting-edge research to improve patient outcomes, enhances patient care through innovative clinical trials, and continues to make cancer treatments safer and more effective.

Learn more about the WVU pancreatic cancer team’s work to offer patients a brighter future and hear from patients about the impact of this challenging disease.

Attendees must register for the luncheon by Nov. 10. Please plan to join us for these events.

Parking is available in the Health Sciences Center lot outside of the WVU Cancer Institute.
